1. Can you remember the first Gala Day you attended? (Date etc). Did
you receive anything e.g. cakes, milk, etc.?
1925. We received a bag with a pie, a cake and milk.
2. Where did you assemble, and are there any teachers you can remember who 'marched' with you?
Square Park. Teachers: Miss Baird, Miss Armistead.
3. Can you remember who the Queen was, and who crowned her?
Elizabeth Meek.
4. Are there any funny stories you can remember that happened at the Gala? (sound problems/crowning problems etc.)

5. What was the best Gala you ever attended and why?
They were all special because it was something to look forward to -it was about all we had.
6. When you attend a Gala, do you stay just for the Ceremony, or the whole afternoon or a specific time?
Usually about two hours.
7. What do you think about the present Gala Days (set up, fund-raising etc.)?
It isn't so much like the old children's gala day - more like an army display.
8. If "not much" -how would you improve matters? What should the Gala Committee introduce that would be beneficial to the Gala -and would you be prepared to help with these improvements?
I think the Committee work very hard - there is nothing I could add.
