1. Can you remember your first Gala Day?
No. But I can remember when you had a 'tinny' tied with a string around your neck and got a lucky sixpence.
2. What, for you, was the 'Best' Gala you ever helped to organise and why?
I wouldn't say there was a 'best' but I've helped at a lot of good ones.
3. Have you any funny stories to tell about your time on the 'Gala Committee' ie fundraising etc?
At a pet show a boy turned up with a Tarantula. When the boy uncovered it, a Committee member screamed and the boy said "It's a'right missus, it won't bite you."
4 .Have there been any times when you have wanted to relinquish your position on the Gala Committee?
When the public keep moaning at you and don't realise the time and effort you spend doing things - very seldom do they praise you .
5 .Who, would you say, has done more to keep the Galas going and why?
Miss Janette Stewart because she puts her heart into the Gala and is good at organising things .
6. What makes a good Committee Member?
One who is willing to give up a lot of their time and works come raIn or shine.
7. When did you join the Gala Day Committee?
