Chairmans Message

As the 91st Newtongrange Children’s Gala Day approaches, we look back on the last 90 years with fond memories.
To organise a Gala Day on such a large scale, we rely heavily upon the village of Newtongrange coming together as a whole.
Before the first chords of the Galaday March are heard reverberating around the Public Park, take a moment to remember all the hard work that has gone into making this day possible.
The Gala Committee give up their time, not just for Gala Week, but also throughout the year, raising funds, organising events to ensure that this tradition carries on.
As well the Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the scores of people, too many to mention, that work behind the scenes, helping the Gala to run smoothly.
I would also like to thank the children of Newtongrange without whom; there would be no Galaday.
A big thank you to everyone in Newtongrange for your continued support in making Newtongrange Children’s Gala Day the biggest and best.

John Tod, Gala Chairman
