The Gala took place on June 8th, after a week of wet weather Saturday dawned dull but cleared up well before the ceremony.

Chairmans Message
This years Gala was a great success thanks to the tremendous
support we received from the local businesses individuals and of course the
whole village of Newtongrange, we were also helped by the lovely weather,
as the children approached the stage the sun came out and showed what a splendid
spectacle our Gala Court is and must be retained. I would like to thank my
committee for the hard work they carried out throughout the year, we had a
lot of fun and a lot of stress but it was all well worth it, we look forward
to organising the next Gala which shall be our 90th year.
On a sadder note we have seen the passing of our president Janette
Stewart a great personal loss to me and the committee. Janette worked
for 28 years as a committee member and shall never be forgotten by the people
of Newtongrange.
