DEDICATION
A special dedication to the journalists, past and present, of the Dalkeith Advertiser who, with their expertise, have reported the story of Newtongrange Gala with a colourful panache. They have presented the story on a plate for yours truly. These men, over the years, personally attended the galas so what right have I to change their words.
We have decided to leave totally untouched the period 1913-1962 and summarise, where necessary, 1962-1993 as the later galas did not get the same 'word space'.
This is a once in a lifetime chance to pay tribute to a band of ladies and gentlemen, past and present, who were vital in ensuring the success of Newtongrange Gala from 1913 to 1993.
