Jim Green Chairman of the Dean Trust

James Green
Chairman of the Trust 1984-2004

One of the most difficult challenges facing the trustees of the nineties was how to refurbish the bar while at the same time keeping the unique character of it. It was always going to be a tricky one but the refurbishment went ahead and the Dean Bar is more popular than ever. Gone are the days when the Dean was regarded as a "Mans Bar" and women are now as comfortable as men in the bar.

Apart from the bar and two lounges the Dean has an excellent Function Hall and a recently refurbished Comitttee/Conference Room. All these facilities are available to local organisations free of charge.

However.... no matter how many improvements and changes are made, the most important function of the Dean Tavern is that it continues to support local organisations such as the two bands, the Gala Day Comittee, St. Davids Day Centre and many other groups.

The most important element of the Deans success is you and all the other folk who come to relax and enjoy a drink. Thank You.
